Neil Island

Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) – The Emerald of Andaman
If Havelock is adventure and luxury, Neil Island — officially known as Shaheed Dweep — is peace, simplicity, and untouched natural beauty. Just 40 km from Port Blair and around 1 hour from Havelock by ferry, Neil Island is smaller, quieter, and perfect for travelers looking to slow down, unwind, and connect with nature. Known for its beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and scenic bridges formed by nature, this island is truly an offbeat paradise.
Laxmanpur Beach
This long, white-sand beach is famous for its breathtaking sunsets. As the sun sinks into the ocean, the sky lights up in magical shades of orange and purple — making it a favorite spot for photography and evening walks. The beach is also dotted with interesting rock formations and seashells, offering plenty of peaceful corners to sit and enjoy the view.

Bharatpur Beach
Located close to the jetty, Bharatpur Beach is the most vibrant and accessible beach on Neil Island. With calm, shallow waters, it’s ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and glass-bottom boat rides. The coral reefs here are rich and colorful, and even children can enjoy the marine life near the shore. You’ll also find coconut vendors, food stalls, and activity operators — making it a lively yet laid-back beach.

Natural Bridge (Howrah Bridge)
A wonder of nature, the Natural Bridge is a huge rock formation shaped like an arch, formed by years of sea erosion. Accessible during low tide, it offers a thrilling walk over rocky pools filled with starfish, sea cucumbers, and tiny marine creatures. It’s one of the most iconic photo spots on Neil Island and a favorite among nature lovers and explorers.

Sitapur Beach (Sunrise Beach)
Known as the sunrise point of Neil Island, Sitapur Beach is perfect for early risers. The beach offers a wide, open view of the horizon, where the rising sun fills the sky with golden light. The waves are slightly stronger here, and the beach is beautifully wild and less crowded. It’s a soul-soothing spot for morning yoga, meditation, or peaceful walks.
